PRIVACY AND INFORMATION HANDLING POLICY

Pegasus Support Services is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information of NDIS participants, their families, and other stakeholders. We manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the NDIS Practice Standards.

We collect personal and sensitive information necessary to provide support coordination services, including:

- Name, contact details, date of birth

- NDIS participant number and plan details

- Health and medical information

- Emergency contacts

- Service providers and support networks


3. How We Collect Information

We collect personal information:

- Directly from you or your authorised representative

- Through referral forms or intake processes

- From third parties (e.g. other service providers or family members), with your consent


4. Why We Collect Personal Information

We collect this information to:

- Deliver support coordination services in line with your NDIS plan

- Understand your goals and tailor support

- Communicate with providers, plan managers, and the NDIA

- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations


5. How We Store and Protect Your Information

- Information is stored in secure electronic systems with access controls

- Paper documents are stored in locked cabinets

- All staff and contractors must sign confidentiality agreements

- We regularly review our data security practices to ensure compliance


6. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share your information with:

- The NDIA and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

- Other service providers with your consent

- Your nominated plan manager or guardian

- As required by law (e.g. in the case of serious risk)

We will never sell or rent your information.


7. Access and Correction

You have the right to:

- Request access to the personal information we hold about you

- Request correction if the information is inaccurate or outdated
